The clothing industry for young men is quite large and important because of the wide age bracket which it covers; the definition of a young man nowadays is a fourteen year old to a forty year old! 

Young men used to want to look like their fathers, to look mature. Now, they want to look and feel as young as possible in the way that they dress. There are no old men in fashion, because feeling young is being young.

One of the staple outfits in every man’s closet is the t-shirt and jeans mix. Everyone, not just men, need this in their everyday lives. Young men have to wear jeans that express who they are and how they want to be seen.

In today’s young mens clothing, long gone are the days when baggy jeans were the only kind boys would wear. Now, young men can wear anything from skinny jeans to straight cut jeans and the like.

The T-shirt has come a long way in fashion. Designs and styles have changed over the years, and young men have the ability to choose whatever suits them. The overly baggy style isn’t as fashionable as it was before though, so if you’d like to stay on the in side of fashion, it’s best to go with a different look.

Cargo pants are also very fashionable nowadays in young men’s clothing; particularly the pants with lots of design and accessories, like more pockets, buttons, zippers, and the like.

Shirts, aside from the T-shirt are also very important things to have in a young man’s clothes wardrobe. Knitted polo shirts are very comfortable and the collar will make the young man look sophisticated and smart. Button-down shirts over T-shirts can also make you look like an important and well-dressed young man while still being casual. On the more casual front, you could try out a trendy short sleeved hoodie.

Shoes are a very important part of an outfit for young men, but they are also confusing for most. During the summer, slippers and sandals are alright and in the winter time sneakers are acceptable too. For less casual events, it is good to have at least one pair of sneakers that is less athletic looking and more formal looking, yet comfortable. Don't forget about a pair of comfortable cotton socks to include with your next shoe purchase.

Belts are important to all young men’s clothes, as it keeps your pants up. Whether or not you tuck your pants in, it’s important to have at least one or two belts in your closet. Just because your pants are a little big doesn’t give you the right to show off your boxers to the world. Choose neutral colors like brown, black, and dark green. Eye-catching buckles are out of style now, but if you’d like to stand out of the crowd, then at least choose one that matches your style.

Accessories are probably one of the hardest things for young men to buy when out shopping for clothes. Casual looks go well with leather necklaces and bracelets. Preppy looks require a good watch and maybe a wallet chain. Backwards baseball caps are completely out of style, and it’s considered a fashion crime if you even attempt to bring it back. If you’re going to wear a hat, at least wear it properly. Aside from this, young men don’t really need to accessorize their clothing too much.
